Why You Should Color
The several reasons why all of us should color. This just doesn't have to be a kids activity anymore. Coloring is relaxing. It takes our mind off of the real world and into a fantasy land where our imaginations can run wild. Drawing is usually only fun for people with some semblance of artistic ability. Coloring can be done by all. Even toddlers color. They may not stay in between the lines but it is the effort that counts.
Coloring is Educational
There is an educational aspect to coloring pictures. Kids and adults can learn about many of the subjects covered in school by using our coloring pages. Our site has the entire alphabet with a new coloring sheet for each letter. You can make up your own activities when you color. Here is one example. Download a complete category of coloring sheets and color them all in using the same color combination. Then make a collage and take a picture. I may even start a new category with activities or lesson plans using a compilation of coloring pages. Coloring is a simple yet effective activity to teach students.
Teachers, Parents, and Kids will Love It
Who doesn't love to color? Teachers and parents will appreciate this coloring website for the ease of use and educational foundation of the printables. Kids will enjoy it because they have hundreds of new designs to color. Coloring Printables has close to 400 free coloring worksheets for kids. If each coloring page took a child 30 minutes to complete, it would take them 18 straight days to finish all of the worksheets on this site. Kindergarten, preschool, and nursery school children already spend plenty of time with their coloring books. This type of activity is brilliant mainly because most children love to color and it keeps them busy.
Colors and What They Mean
The spectrum of light is how we see color. Colors can provide a wide range of information that can be used in psychology. They can be interpreted and have been shown to affect mood. I remember hearing a story about a college football team that painted the inside of the visitors' locker room pink. The head coach requested pink locker rooms for the opposing teams because he read that pink can have a calming effect on people. For instance, blue symbolizes peace, cleanliness, water, and technology. Color combinations have meaning as well. A purple and yellow color combination can be seen as portraying royalty. |
